•What resources will you need to carry out your plan (video, reading, experts or colleagues, etc)?
I will need access to the SmartBoard or Activboard at least once a week. Right now we just moved into a new building and all the technology hasn’t been set up yet. When it starts being available I will add to my lesson plans a large group technology time. I will need interactive websites or lessons ready and available. To let the students access the computer during center time I will need time to show each child how the computer works. I will need at least one computer available during center time. I will need spread sheets started to monitor progress.
•What additional information do you need?
I will need some interactive websites or preplanned lessons.
•What steps have you been able to take so far?
Sign my name on the technology calendar for times to use the IWB. Start showing the students how to use the computer responsibly. Started to create a spreadsheet.
Step 1: By Wednesday: Post a description of the resources and information you will need to carry out your action plan as well as your intended learning strategy. In your post, address the questions listed above. Reach out to your colleagues in this learning community for assistance if needed.

Brandy-
ReplyDeleteOur school is in the process of getting a couple of interactive whiteboards as well. I am excited to see how they could work in my art room. I came across a couple of websites that might be beneficially to your classroom using the IWB
The first one has some great links to interactive websites:
http://rmtc.fsdb.k12.fl.us/content/interactivesites.html
The second have lesson plans and activities:

I hope these help!
I know you are very excited to be moving inot a new building with new technology. We moved into a new school a few years ago. The interactive whiteboard really adds a new dimension to your curriculum. Whenever I have a brainfreeze and can't remember how to do something on the board, the students are eager to remind me. They love it! If your school/district offers training, be sure to attend. I always learn something new when I go.

Brandy,
ReplyDeleteHaving the interactive lessons planned ahead of time is a great planning strategy to use. I recently came across a wonderful website that is full of interactive smartboard lessons. The site allows you to preview and download any interactive lessons you're interested in based on the subject area, content, and grade level. I hope this link helps you with your planning.

ReplyDeleteTo all,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the websites. As soon as we get our boards hooked up I can't wait to start to use them again. The kids really enjoy using them.
