NETS-T and GAME Plan

NETS-T and GAME Plan
My progress in my GAME plan has started rolling. I went to use the IWB with my students this week. The students were very receptive using it. They like that it was big and that they could touch it and move things around. We played an alphabet game on starfall.com. This helps the students with the letters and the sounds. They associate the sounds with pictures and animated videos.
- I have learned that there are many different things and ways to incorporate technology in the classroom.
- I am working on incorporating technology more often during the month. Right now I am doing it twice a month and I would like to increase it to once a week.
- I would like to incorporate more creativity in my lessons. Also, more collaboration and communication would be a goal I would like to create.
- I would like to create a blog or wiki that the parents could access so I would not have to print out newsletters. This way I could just post it and the parents could respond with questions.

  1. I am so glad your students' first experience with the IWB was so successful! Your next goals of adding more collaboration and adding a classroom blog are great ways to expose your students to 21st century thinking skills and keep parents informed about what is happening in your classroom.

  2. Brandy,
I like your idea of using a classroom blog or wiki to communicate with parents. It would help out with paper consumption by going paperless. What would you do with students that do not have computer access from home?

  4. Brandy,
My little girl is in kindergarten and absolutely loves starfall.com. She learns so much and has fun!I am also in the process of setting up a blog where parents can ask questions as needed. You are doing a great job implementing your GAME plan.

  5. Brandy,

I also like your idea of having a blog or wiki page for parents to view your newsletter and to provide any questions or comments. I think this will be a great way to incorporate collaboration amongst your parents as well. You could even set up informal discussions in regards to future class parties or class field trips on your blog or wiki page.
